Description
Series 1976 two-dollar bill from the United States, featuring the Jefferson portrait on the obverse and the Declaration of Independence signing scene on the reverse. The note carries a green Treasury seal and green serial numbers, denoting its issue as a Federal Reserve Note rather than a United States Note.
The front bears the district seal of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, marked with the letter “L” and district number 12, along with the printed signatures of Francine S. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury. “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “TWO DOLLARS,” and “WASHINGTON, D.C.” appear in the standard engraved typography of the era, with matching serial number L46865553A printed twice in green ink.
The note shows genuine circulation wear consistent with its age, including soft corner rounding, light overall toning, visible creases and fold lines across the surface, and a small separation or tear along the lower edge. A protective plastic sleeve and a numbered inventory tag are included with the note in one of the photographs.
