Description
Two-dollar Federal Reserve Note from the 1976 series, featuring the portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the face and an engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the reverse. This denomination was issued to mark the United States Bicentennial, and the design remains a favorite among casual collectors and note enthusiasts alike.
The note carries a green Treasury seal and green serial number D09803661A, with the district seal of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland (D) printed at left. Signatures of Francine Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, appear along the lower portion of the face. Washington, D.C. is printed beneath the serial number, and the reverse carries the familiar Declaration of Independence vignette along with the “IN GOD WE TRUST” motto.
The note shows honest circulation wear, with noticeable toning and yellowing concentrated along the edges and corners, consistent with age and handling. There is light soiling and a few minor creases across the surface, but the paper remains intact with no tears, holes, or repairs. All text, portraits, and serial numbers remain fully legible.
