Series 1976 Two Dollar Federal Reserve Note

Description

Series 1976 two-dollar Federal Reserve Note featuring the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson framed within an oval on the face, printed on the durable cotton-linen blend paper used for U.S. currency. The reverse carries the well-known engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, framed by ornate scrollwork and the banner reading “The United States of America.”

This note was issued from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, indicated by the “C” district seal and the letter designations E4 and E20 in the corners. The green Treasury seal appears beside the serial number C07614829A, which is repeated in green ink in both the upper right and lower left corners. Printed signatures of Francine A. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, appear along the lower portion of the note, with “Washington, D.C.” printed beneath the serial number.

The note shows genuine circulation wear, including light overall toning, faint creases, and a softened corner at the lower right edge. It is currently housed in a protective plastic sleeve with a paper tag marked “0023” affixed to the front for inventory purposes.
