United States two-dollar bill printed on the government’s cotton-linen currency paper, Series 1976, issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (district letter B). The obverse carries the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson at center, flanked by bold black numeral 2s in each corner, with the green Treasury seal and matching green serial number B26055083A appearing twice along the top and bottom left. The reverse features the well-known engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, framed by ornate scrollwork and the phrase “In God We Trust.”
Printed text identifies the note as a Federal Reserve Note from Washington, D.C., legal tender for all debts public and private. The Federal Reserve Bank seal for New York (B) is stamped at left, and the printed signatures of Francine I. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, appear along the lower border beneath the Jefferson portrait, consistent with the 1976 series design.
The note shows overall light circulation wear with visible toning and yellowing along the edges and a soft vertical crease running through the center. A small nick is present along the left edge, and light corner softening can be seen at the top left and bottom right. One photo shows the note housed in a protective plastic sleeve with a small paper inventory tag numbered 0024 laid over the surface for cataloging purposes.
