Description
United States two-dollar bill, Series 1976, issued as a Federal Reserve Note from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (District B). The obverse carries the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson at center, while the reverse features the engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, 1776, with the “IN GOD WE TRUST” motto printed beneath the scene.
The note bears the green Treasury seal and green serial numbers, reading B19615144A, along with the printed signatures of Francine I. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury. Standard Federal Reserve Note text appears along the top border, and the note is marked Washington, D.C. beneath the serial number on the right.
The note remains flat and largely crisp with corners intact. Light overall toning is present along the edges consistent with age and handling, and a faint smudge mark is visible near the top center on both front and back. No tears, holes, or heavy creasing are apparent.
