United States two-dollar bill from the Series 1976 Federal Reserve Note issue, featuring Thomas Jefferson’s portrait on the face and an engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the reverse. The note carries a green Treasury seal and green serial numbers reading B 22193290 A, identifying it as a Federal Reserve Note issued through the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (District B).
Printed text includes “Washington, D.C.,” “Series 1976,” and the standard legal tender clause stating the note is legal tender for all debts, public and private. The engraved signatures of the Secretary of the Treasury and the Treasurer of the United States appear on the face, and the back bears the classic Trumbull-derived engraving of the Founding Fathers with the phrase “In God We Trust” and “Declaration of Independence 1776.”
The note shows light overall toning and mild edge softness consistent with careful handling and age, with no tears, holes, or heavy creasing visible. A small paper price tag numbered 0048 is affixed to the face of the note over Jefferson’s portrait in one of the photographed views.
