Description
Issued as legal tender for all debts, public and private, this Series 1976 two-dollar Federal Reserve Note features the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the face and an engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the reverse. The note was printed under the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, identified by the “B” seal and district numeral, and carries a green Treasury seal typical of this series.
The note bears serial number B01327958A, printed in green, along with the facsimile signatures of Francine A. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury. A small handwritten notation in purple ink, reading “30,” appears near the green seal on the obverse, likely added by a previous collector or dealer as a price or reference mark.
The note shows numerous small handling creases and light overall toning consistent with genuine circulation and age, along with a printed dealer/reference sticker numbered “0058” affixed to the reverse for identification. No tears, holes, or major damage are visible, and the paper remains intact and legible throughout.
