United States one-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1957A, featuring the portrait of George Washington centered on the obverse within an ornate engraved border. The note carries a blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers reading Q79569675A, with the printed promise “This Certifies That There Is On Deposit In The Treasury Of The United States Of America One Dollar In Silver Payable To The Bearer On Demand.”
Printed signatures of Elizabeth Rudel Smith, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, appear along the lower portion of the note. The reverse displays the traditional green ink design, including the Great Seal of the United States with the eagle and shield on the right and the pyramid with the all-seeing eye and the mottoes “Annuit Coeptis” and “Novus Ordo Seclorum” on the left, along with “In God We Trust” centered above the ONE.
The note shows typical circulation wear consistent with its age, including a visible vertical center fold, light creasing throughout, and toning/discoloration across the paper surface. A small adhesive price tag reading “0077” is affixed to the front in one of the accompanying photos, and the note is shown housed in a protective plastic currency sleeve.
