Description
Series 1976 two-dollar Federal Reserve Note featuring Thomas Jefferson’s portrait on the face and the Trumbull painting of the Declaration of Independence signing on the reverse. Issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, identified by the letter “B” in the seal, with a green Treasury seal and green serial numbers printed twice on the front.
The note carries the printed signatures of Francine I. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, along with the serial number B09830590A. Standard engraved border scrollwork and denomination counters appear on all four corners of both sides, consistent with the design used for this issue.
The note shows genuine circulation wear, including visible fold lines running through Jefferson’s portrait, light overall toning, and a few small spots of foxing/discoloration on the paper stock. A paper price sticker (“0037”) is affixed to the lower left corner of the face, and the note is currently housed in a plastic sleeve.
