Description
United States two-dollar bill, Series 1976, featuring the portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the face and an engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the reverse. Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, this Federal Reserve Note carries a green Treasury seal and green serial numbers, with denomination markings of “2” and “TWO” repeated throughout the border design.
The note bears the Federal Reserve Bank seal for the Philadelphia district, indicated by the letter “C,” along with the district number 3 printed in the corners. Serial number C07276036A appears twice on the face, and the printed signatures of Francine A. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, are present beneath the portrait. “Washington, D.C.” and “Series 1976” are clearly printed on the note.
The bill shows light circulation wear consistent with its age, including mild toning along the edges and a faint crease line running vertically through the center. The paper remains crisp overall with sharp print detail on both the portrait and the Declaration of Independence vignette on the back. No tears, holes, or significant staining are visible.
