United States one-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1957, printed on the traditional cotton-linen banknote paper used for U.S. currency of the era. The obverse carries the portrait of George Washington centered within an ornate engraved frame, flanked by blue serial numbers and a blue Treasury seal, with the promise “This certifies that there is on deposit in the Treasury of the United States of America one dollar in silver payable to the bearer on demand.”

The note bears the printed signatures of Ivy Baker Priest, Treasurer of the United States, and Robert B. Anderson, Secretary of the Treasury, along with the Washington D.C. issuing designation and small plate check numbers in the corners. The reverse displays the familiar green engraving of the Great Seal of the United States, including the pyramid with the all-seeing eye and the American eagle, printed above the words “In God We Trust” and the large “ONE” denomination.

The note shows honest circulation wear consistent with its age, including light toning and discoloration along the edges and borders, minor soiling, and soft handling creases across the surface. A small paper sleeve with a handwritten inventory number is visible in one photo, used for storage rather than affecting the note itself.
