Three sheets of original pen-and-ink comic strip artwork make up this humorous multi-panel sequence titled “Fractions.” Each board is hand-inked with grey wash shading, depicting a recurring cast — a balding, pipe-smoking father, his bespectacled wife, and their young son — working through a running joke about homework, discipline, and a visiting relative. The panels are numbered in red pencil (1 through 9), indicating their place in a longer serialized strip, and the loose, expressive linework is typical of mid-century newspaper gag cartooning.
