Description
Cobalt blue ceramic stein pays tribute to the United States Marine Corps with a raised pewter lid topped by a hand-painted eagle finial, wings spread and clutching a stars-and-stripes motif. The front bears the official United States Marine Corps seal medallion in gold, red, and blue enamel, flanked by gilded eagle accents, with “USMC” lettered on the lid band and “Once a Marine Always a Marine” inscribed below the medallion in gold script.
The reverse carries the Marine Corps hymn verse beginning “From The Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli,” closing with “SEMPER FIDELIS” and “THE FEW THE PROUD” banded near the rim. The base is ringed in a silver and gold star motif, the handle finished with a gold rope-twist design, and the hinged pewter lid operates on a thumb-lift mechanism. The underside is marked “USMC Masterpiece Values,” identifies the piece as an officially licensed Bradford Exchange limited-edition stein, and carries an individual edition number hand-inscribed on the base along with a 2018 copyright date.
The stein presents in excellent overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. The glaze retains strong gloss throughout, the gilding and enamel work on the medallion remain crisp and unworn, and the pewter lid and eagle finial show only light handling wear consistent with careful display or storage.
