Description
Complete twelve-piece resin figurine set depicts a bulldog mascot in Marine Corps dress and combat uniforms, one figure representing each month of the year, mounted on matching round bases with blue-and-gold trim and engraved brass-tone nameplates identifying the month. Poses vary throughout the set: a saluting Marine in dress blues for February, a jungle-camo fighter gripping an M16 for May, a swim-trunks bulldog with a camera for September, a drill-instructor figure in a campaign hat for July, and a flag-bearing soldier in green fatigues for December, among others. Each figure captures the bulldog’s signature underbite and jowly expression, rendered in painted cold-cast resin with molded uniform detail, weaponry, and accessories.
Each figure in the set is marked on the underside of its base as part of the USMC Perpetual Calendar collection produced by The Bradford Exchange, copyright 2007, with a Bradex identification number (84-B20-284.1 through .6 visible across the issues shown) and a handwritten edition number in ink. The bases identify each figure’s place in the series — January through June are marked as the first through third issues, with July through December continuing the run — and note the edition was limited to a maximum of 295 casting days. Figures depict a range of uniforms and gear including dress blues, camouflage fatigues, a Smokey Bear-style campaign hat, an M16 rifle, a sword, binoculars, a combat helmet, and a small fabric American flag on a stick.
The set shows typical handling wear from display and collection use: light scuffing and small paint chips along raised edges of uniforms and bases, minor rubbing to painted highlights on several figures, and light soiling to the pale muzzle and belly areas common on this bulldog character line. Bases show some edge nicks and light paint loss at the trim, and the small fabric flag on the December figure shows light creasing. No figures appear cracked or broken, and all nameplates and identification labels remain legible.
