Description
Cold-cast bronze sculpture depicting a World War I-era United States Marine advancing with a bayonet-fixed rifle, helmet on, one boot planted on a rocky mound base. The figure is rendered in a warm bronze-tone finish with dark accents worked into the folds of the uniform, the crossed shoulder straps, and the textured ground beneath his feet, giving the piece real depth and movement. It stands mounted on a rectangular black plinth with the phrase “FROM THE HALLS OF MONTEZUMA” cast in gold lettering along the front face.
The underside of the base identifies the piece as the first edition in the “Semper Fi – History of the Marine Corps” cold-cast bronze collection, an officially licensed product of the United States Marine Corps produced by The Bradford Exchange. The base carries the item number 01-32016-001 and notes the edition was limited to 295 castings; this example is hand-numbered on the underside. Four felt pads are affixed to the bottom corners to protect display surfaces.
The bronze finish is well preserved throughout with crisp detail in the face, uniform, and weaponry. The black base shows light surface scuffing and faint white marbling-style marks along its edges, consistent with handling and display rather than damage. No chips, cracks, or losses are present on the figure itself.
