1957 Series $1 Silver Certificate Note

Series 1957 U.S. one-dollar Silver Certificate with blue seal and serial numbers, featuring George Washington’s portrait and light age toning.

Description

Vintage United States one-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1957, featuring the classic blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers on cream-colored paper. The obverse carries the familiar portrait of George Washington framed by ornate engraved scrollwork, with the bold SILVER CERTIFICATE banner across the top and the promise that the note is payable to the bearer in silver on demand.

The note is printed with the signatures of Ivy Baker Priest, Treasurer of the United States, and Robert B. Anderson, Secretary of the Treasury, both standard engraved signatures found on notes of this series. The reverse displays the traditional green ONE DOLLAR design with the Great Seal of the United States on one side and the reverse of the seal, including the pyramid and eye, on the other, along with the IN GOD WE TRUST motto.

The note shows overall light circulation wear with visible yellowing and toning along the edges and surface, consistent with age. No tears, holes, or heavy creasing are apparent, and the printing and serial numbers remain crisp and fully legible throughout.
