Description
United States one-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1957A, printed with the blue Treasury seal and serial number L14092802A repeated in the upper right and lower left corners. The obverse carries the portrait of George Washington framed by ornate engraving, with the certification text stating silver is held on deposit and payable to the bearer on demand. The reverse features the familiar green ONE DOLLAR design, including the Great Seal of the United States and the pyramid with the all-seeing eye above the motto “In God We Trust.”
The note bears the printed signatures of Elizabeth Rudel Smith, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, both consistent with the 1957A series. Plate numbers appear in the lower margins on both sides, and the note retains its full engraved detail, including the ornate corner medallions and “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” banner across the top.
The bill shows clear circulation wear, with overall toning and yellowing of the paper, several rust-colored stains along the left edge and center fold, and a soft vertical crease running through the middle. Corners are lightly rounded with minor edge softening, and the paper remains intact with no tears. A small adhesive price sticker is visible on one of the reference photos but is not affixed to the note itself.
