Description
United States one-dollar Silver Certificate note from Series 1957B, printed on the classic small-size format with a blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers reading S23626612A. The obverse features the familiar portrait of George Washington centered within an ornate engraved border, flanked by blue “ONE” numerals and the seal of the Department of the Treasury.
The reverse carries the standard green ink design, including the Great Seal of the United States with the pyramid and eye above the motto “Annuit Coeptis,” the eagle and shield emblem, and the phrase “In God We Trust” centered above the large “ONE.” The note bears the printed signatures of Kathryn O’Hay Granahan, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, both standard for notes issued under this series.
The note shows visible circulation wear consistent with its age, including light overall toning, soft corner and edge softening, and gentle horizontal and vertical fold lines. No tears, holes, or heavy staining are present, and the printing and serial numbers remain crisp and fully legible throughout.
