United States one-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1957B, featuring the familiar portrait of George Washington centered on the face and the Great Seal eagle with pyramid and all-seeing eye on the reverse. The note carries a blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers, with “THIS CERTIFIES THAT THERE IS ON DEPOSIT IN THE TREASURY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” printed across the top, identifying it as a silver-backed note from the mid-twentieth century series of U.S. paper currency.
The printed signatures of Kathryn O’Hay Granahan, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, appear on the face, along with plate numbers H1 and H764. The serial number X02707595A is printed twice on the front in matching blue ink, and the reverse bears the standard green “IN GOD WE TRUST” inscription and Great Seal imagery typical of this series. A small paper inventory tag numbered “0065” is affixed to the face of the note; this tag is a lot label and not part of the original printing.
The note shows honest circulation wear consistent with its age, including visible horizontal and vertical fold lines, light overall toning to the paper, and a faint pinkish stain along one edge of the reverse. Corners are lightly softened and the paper retains its original crispness in the unfolded areas, with no tears or missing pieces noted.
