Description
United States one-dollar Silver Certificate from Series 1957B, featuring the familiar portrait of George Washington centered on the obverse beneath the blue Treasury seal. The note carries the printed pledge “This certifies that there is on deposit in the Treasury of the United States one silver dollar payable to the bearer on demand,” with serial number T73241848A printed in blue at upper right and lower left.
The obverse bears the signatures of Elizabeth Rudel Granahan, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, along with the Washington, D.C. Treasury seal and the “Series 1957B” designation. The reverse is printed in green ink and displays the Great Seal of the United States, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the denomination spelled out in large ornamental type.
The note shows overall circulated wear consistent with its age, including light yellowing and toning across the paper, visible handling creases, and softened corners. It is currently housed in a protective plastic sleeve with a paper inventory tag numbered 0069 affixed to the exterior.
