1976 Series Two-Dollar Federal Reserve Note

Bicentennial-era United States two-dollar bill, Series 1976, issued as a Federal Reserve Note from the Dallas district (district letter K). The obverse carries the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson at center beneath a green Treasury seal, with the serial number K10595224A printed in green ink in the upper right and lower left corners. The reverse bears the engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, framed by “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “TWO DOLLARS” banners.

The note carries the printed signatures of Francine I. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, along with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas seal and district numeral 11 repeated in each corner. Denomination markers reading “TWO DOLLARS” appear along all four borders on the front, and the reverse is printed in the traditional green ink used for this series.

The bill shows light, honest circulation wear consistent with its age, including gentle handling creases, a few visible fold lines running horizontally and vertically across the note, and mild toning to the paper stock. Corners remain sharp with no significant tears, and the printing on both sides stays crisp and fully legible throughout.
