Description
United States Two Dollar Federal Reserve Note, Series 1976, issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (District B). The obverse carries the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson at center, flanked by a green Treasury seal and serial number B02403828A, with signatures of Treasurer Francine Neff and Secretary of the Treasury William Simon printed below.
The reverse features the iconic engraving of the Declaration of Independence signing, framed by “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “TWO DOLLARS” banners, along with the “IN GOD WE TRUST” motto and the inscription “DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, 1776.” The note is currently housed in a clear protective currency sleeve with a small paper collector’s tag numbered 0013 affixed near the upper left corner.
The note shows the wear typical of a circulated bill of this age, including visible creasing, soft corners, and scattered brownish foxing spots across the surface, most noticeable along the upper edge and right side. No tears or missing pieces are evident, and the printing and serial numbers remain crisp and fully legible.
