Description
Federal Reserve Note in the two-dollar denomination, Series 1976, issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (district letter B). The obverse carries the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson at center, with the seal of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to the left and a green Treasury seal to the right. Serial number B35147974A appears in green ink in both the upper right and lower left corners.
The reverse features the engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, framed by “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” above and “TWO DOLLARS” banners in the lower corners, with “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, 1776” printed along the base. Printed signatures of Francine A. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, appear on the face of the note.
The note shows general circulation wear consistent with its age, including light soiling, a couple of small edge nicks, and a short vertical crease/split visible along the bottom edge near the center. It remains fully intact and legible throughout, with no tears through the printed design.
