Description
United States two-dollar bill printed on paper currency stock, Series 1976, featuring Thomas Jefferson’s portrait on the obverse within an oval frame and an engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence spanning the reverse. The note carries a green Treasury seal and green serial numbering, with “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “TWO DOLLARS” banked across the design in traditional engraved lettering.
The note was issued through the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, indicated by the letter “B” district seal, with serial number B32647679A printed twice on the face. Washington, D.C. appears beneath the serial number, and the printed signatures of Francine I. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, run along the lower portion of the bill. The reverse bears the engraver’s plate number 46 and the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” beneath the Declaration of Independence scene.
The bill presents in clean, crisp condition with sharp corners and no tears, holes, or heavy creasing visible. It is currently housed in a clear protective sleeve with a small paper inventory tag marked “0045” affixed to the front for reference; the tag is not part of the note itself.
