Description
Series 1976 U.S. two-dollar bill, a Federal Reserve Note issued from Washington, D.C. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson’s portrait framed in an oval vignette, flanked by green Treasury seal and serial numbers reading B21961041A. The reverse carries the well-known engraving of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, with “In God We Trust” and “Declaration of Independence, 1776” printed beneath the scene.
The note bears the Federal Reserve Bank of New York seal (District B) and is signed by Francine I. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury. Standard legal tender language appears in the upper left corner, and the note carries the small district and check letters C2 and C23 in the corners of the obverse design.
The bill shows light overall handling consistent with a note that has circulated, including mild edge toning and a few faint creases. The paper remains flat with crisp corners and no tears, holes, or heavy soiling.
