Description
Officially licensed by the United States Marine Corps, this musical glitter globe from The Bradford Exchange depicts the Marine Corps bulldog mascot in dress uniform and drill instructor hat, rendered mid-salute in front of a sculpted American flag. Confetti-style glitter swirls inside the glass dome when shaken, settling around the figure’s boots, and the piece plays the “Star Spangled Banner” through a built-in music mechanism housed in the base.
The bulldog wears an olive drab shirt printed with “The Few, The Proud, The Marines” alongside the eagle, globe, and anchor emblem, and the same emblem appears in raised gold-tone metal on the front of the black lacquered base, flanked by crossed American and Marine Corps flags. The base is banded in gold stars and stripes with red trim and rests on small brass-tone feet. The underside is stamped with The Bradford Exchange logo, titled “The Few, the Proud, the Marines – USMC Pride Musical Glitter Globe,” marked item No. A0202, product code 01-28553-003, dated ©2019, and identified as an officially licensed USMC product, with an on/off switch for the music function.
The globe and glitter fluid are clear and free of cloudiness, and the glitter moves freely inside the dome. The painted base shows only light handling wear consistent with a well-kept display piece, with no cracks, chips, or fading noted to the lacquer, decals, or metal emblem.
