Description
Hand-blown art glass vase built on a bold faceted, diamond-cut form, its interior awash in vivid pink-magenta glass fully encased within thick clear crystal. The sommerso (“submerged”) technique creates that layered jewel-like effect, with the colored glass appearing to float suspended inside the faceted clear body. The vase narrows to a tall, tapering opening at top and comes to a sharp pointed facet at its base, giving the whole piece a crystalline, almost gem-cut quality that catches and refracts light from every angle.
No maker’s mark or signature is visible on the piece. The body is cut with flat angled facets on all sides rather than left with a rounded or polished surface, a hallmark of mid-century Italian faceted glass design. Walls are notably thick and heavy for their size, consistent with the deep color-casing process, and small internal bubbles are visible within the glass, typical of hand-blown construction.
The vase is in solid vintage condition overall. Light scattered surface scratching is visible across several of the clear facets, consistent with age and handling, and a few tiny embedded specks are visible within the glass body itself. No chips, cracks, or losses are present.
