Framed Check Display with Zeppo Marx Signature

Description

Wood-framed presentation piece combining a color reproduction of the “Animal Crackers” movie poster with a vintage Security Pacific National Bank check drawn on a business account under the name Zeppo Marx. The burgundy suede-textured mat carries cut-out “MARX BROTHERS” lettering across the top, and the check itself, dated September 1, 1971 and made out to David Jones for $24.90, is mounted beneath the poster image. A cursive signature appears on the check’s signature line. Signature/marking present as shown; attribution not verified. Inquire for details.

The check lists the account address as 1801 Avenue of the Stars, Century City, Los Angeles, and is numbered 00344, drawn on the Palm Springs – Ramon Road branch of Security Pacific National Bank. A canceled “PAID” perforation and red ink overlay run across the face of the check, both typical bank-processing markings. The piece is finished in a black wood frame with a wire hanger and D-ring hardware across the back, and the overall framed size measures approximately 17½ by 21½ inches.

The check shows light toning along with the expected perforation and stamping from having been processed and canceled decades ago. The poster reproduction and mat remain clean and bright with no notable fading, and the frame is solid at the corners with no visible cracks, chips, or losses.
