Description
Hand-blown art glass vase in a vivid lime green, shaped with a bulbous, dimpled body that tapers into a slender neck. The glassmaker pinched two shallow indentations into opposite sides of the body while the glass was still hot, and the neck flares out into a ruffled, trefoil-shaped opening with a wavy, hand-tooled rim. The piece functions as a decorative vase or decanter-form display object, meant to catch light and show off the saturation of the glass.
The base carries a pronounced pontil mark, confirming the vase was finished and detached from the blowpipe by hand rather than machine-molded. A small round paper inventory label is affixed to the body near the neck, though no maker’s mark, signature, or foil label is visible anywhere on the piece. Scattered tiny bubbles and faint striations run through the glass, typical of hand-worked art glass from this period.
The vase is in clean, presentable condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs visible. Surface shows only minor handling wear consistent with age, and the pontil scar and small internal bubbles are original to the glassblowing process rather than damage.
