Two-dollar Federal Reserve Note from Series 1976, printed on the classic small-size paper stock and featuring Thomas Jefferson’s portrait within an oval frame on the face. The green Treasury seal and matching green serial numbers identify it as a standard Federal Reserve issue, with the reverse carrying the well-known engraving of the Declaration of Independence signing beneath the banner reading “The United States of America.”

The note was issued from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Virginia, indicated by the “E” district seal and the E-prefix serial number E19967956A repeated in both lower corners. Printed signatures of Francine A. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, appear along the bottom border, with “Series 1976” printed beneath the central portrait.
