Description
United States two-dollar Federal Reserve Note, Series 1976, featuring Thomas Jefferson on the obverse and an engraving of the Declaration of Independence signing on the reverse. The green Treasury seal and serial numbers mark it as a Federal Reserve Note rather than the red-seal United States Note format used in earlier two-dollar bill printings.
The note carries the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta seal with the district letter F, along with district identifiers H3, H4, and the numeral 6 printed at each corner. Printed signatures of the Treasurer of the United States and Secretary of the Treasury appear along the lower border, with “Washington, D.C.” and “Series 1976” printed beneath the portrait. The serial number F02399774A appears twice on the face of the note.
The note shows genuine circulation wear, including soft corners, mild handling creases, and light overall toning to the paper. A vertical crease runs through the center of the bill, visible on both the front and back, and there is minor edge softening along the borders. No tears, holes, or writing are present on the note itself.
