Description
Series 1976 two-dollar bill issued by the United States Federal Reserve, featuring Thomas Jefferson’s portrait on the obverse and the classic Declaration of Independence engraving on the reverse. The note is legal tender and carries the green Treasury seal along with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Virginia seal (District E).
Printed text includes “Washington, D.C.” and the signatures of Francine A. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, both reproduced as part of the printing plate. The serial number E17698339A appears in green ink in the upper right and lower left corners of the front. The note is currently housed in a protective plastic sleeve with a small paper tag marked “0034” affixed near the seal.
The note shows visible circulation wear consistent with its age, including toning and yellowing along the edges and border, a small nick or tear at the upper right corner, soft creasing and a vertical center fold, and light overall handling wear across the surface. No tears through the printed design or missing paper are evident.
