Series 1976 two dollar bill issued as a Federal Reserve Note from the Washington, D.C. Federal Reserve system, District B (New York). The obverse features the familiar portrait of Thomas Jefferson framed in an oval vignette, with the green Treasury seal and serial number B34198968A printed in green ink to the right. The reverse carries the well-known engraving of the Declaration of Independence signing, printed in green, with “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, 1776” banked beneath the scene.

The note carries the printed signatures of Francine I. Neff, Treasurer of the United States, and William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, standard elements of Series 1976 currency rather than added inscriptions. Federal Reserve Bank of New York district markers (“B” seal and matching numerals) appear in the corners and border, and the note is legal tender for all debts, public and private, as printed along the top edge.

The bill shows light overall toning consistent with age and handling, along with faint creasing and mild edge softness. Corners remain intact and the printing stays crisp and fully legible throughout. A small paper price tag is affixed to the front in one photo, evidently from a prior sale or inventory listing, and does not affect the note itself.
