Speckled Art Glass Vase with Aventurine Flecks

Hand-blown art glass vase in warm tortoiseshell tones with red spatter and copper aventurine flecks, featuring a ruffled flared neck and optic-ribbed body.

Description

Hand-blown art glass vase in a warm tortoiseshell palette, its rounded body tapering up to a gently flared, ruffled neck. The surface is worked in a mottled tan and cream ground scattered with deep red spatter marks and flecks of glittering copper-toned aventurine, giving the glass a rich, organic, almost stone-like texture. The body carries a subtle optic-ribbed pattern beneath the surface decoration, catching light as it curves from base to rim.

The piece is free-blown, with a polished pontil mark visible on the underside and no maker’s mark or label present in the photographs. Construction is consistent with traditional Murano-style spatter or ‘a macchie’ glasswork, where colored glass frit and metallic inclusions are rolled into molten glass before shaping. The vase stands with a slightly domed, thickened base for stability.

The vase is in good, clean condition overall, with no chips or cracks noted. Some faint scattered surface marks and light dust are visible near the base in the photographs, consistent with age and gentle handling, but the glass retains strong color saturation and a glossy finish throughout.
