Description
United States five-dollar Legal Tender Note, Series 1953-A, featuring the portrait of Abraham Lincoln at center front within an oval frame and the red Treasury seal to the right. The note carries a red serial number, B67150885A, printed twice on the obverse, and states “This Note Is A Legal Tender At Its Face Value For All Debts Public And Private.” The reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial rendered in green ink, flanked by the denomination spelled out at both corners.
The note bears the printed signatures of Ivy Baker Priest, Treasurer of the United States, and Robert B. Anderson, Secretary of the Treasury, both consistent with the Series 1953-A issue. Washington, D.C. is identified as the issuing location beneath the portrait. A small paper tag with a red-bordered inventory number, 0111, is affixed to the face of the note in one of the reference photos and is not part of the banknote itself.
The note shows honest circulation wear, including moderate creasing and light soiling across the surface, a soft fold line running near the top edge, and a small nick along the lower right border. Corners remain intact with only light rounding, and the printing and red seal retain good clarity throughout.
