United States one-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1957A, printed with the blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers featuring a star suffix, identifying it as a replacement star note. George Washington’s portrait appears in the central oval on the obverse, with the pledge “This certifies that there is on deposit in the Treasury of the United States of America one dollar in silver payable to the bearer on demand.”
The note carries the printed signatures of Elizabeth Rudel Smith, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, along with the Washington, D.C. district designation and plate number D705. The reverse shows the standard green Great Seal design, with the pyramid and eye above “Annuit Coeptis” on the left and the eagle and shield on the right, framed by the phrase “In God We Trust.”
The bill shows genuine circulation wear consistent with its age, including visible fold lines running through the center of the note, softened corners, and light overall handling creases. The reverse displays scattered light discoloration and small spots of toning. No tears, tape repairs, or writing beyond the printed text are present.
