Description
Framed pair of mixed-metal wall panels combine silver-toned metal, copper, and brass into abstract compositions — one built around a jagged mountain-and-star landscape, the other centered on a pair of mirrored scroll forms flanked by riveted side bars. Each panel is mounted in a black wood frame against tan matting, designed to hang as a matched set.
Construction shows a range of hand-metalworking techniques: hammered and repoussé surfaces on the raised peaks, a swirled mokume-gane-style laminate pattern on the copper starbursts and lower scroll elements, and brass banding secured with small round rivets and eyelets. Inset elements include dark textured square and triangular inlays, small round metal studs along the base, orange glass cabochons set into the scrollwork, and two clear circular discs holding loose faceted and rough stone chips alongside slender metal rod segments, arranged like a specimen or sample tray.
Both panels show the expected surface character of hand-formed metal — fine scratching, scattered tarnish and oxidation spotting across the silver-toned surfaces, and light overall patina consistent with age and handling. The black frames have minor edge wear but remain sound, and all inset stones and rivets are securely seated with no visible looseness or loss.
