Description
United States ten-dollar Silver Certificate, Series of 1934C, printed on the traditional cotton-linen currency paper with a portrait of Alexander Hamilton at center and a blue Treasury seal to the right. The note carries the standard silver certificate promise, “This certifies that there is on deposit in the Treasury of the United States ten dollars in silver payable to the bearer on demand,” and is legal tender for all debts, public and private. Serial number B38396520A appears twice in blue ink on the face.
The face bears the printed signatures of W.A. Julian, Treasurer of the United States, and John W. Snyder, Secretary of the Treasury, along with the “Washington, D.C.” designation and series date. The reverse is printed in green ink and features an engraved view of the U.S. Treasury Building framed by ornate scrollwork and “TEN” counters in each corner.
The note shows honest circulation wear consistent with its age: soft corner rounding, several vertical and horizontal fold lines, light overall toning, and faint surface soiling. No tears, holes, or ink loss are present, and the printing remains crisp and fully legible throughout.
