United States one-dollar Silver Certificate from Series 1957B, featuring the portrait of George Washington centered on the obverse and the Great Seal of the United States alongside the pyramid and all-seeing eye on the reverse. The note carries the familiar blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers, with the inscription promising “one dollar in silver payable to the bearer on demand,” a hallmark of this era of U.S. paper currency before silver certificates were phased out.
The serial number W15782533A appears twice on the face of the note, and the printed signatures of Kathryn O’Hay Granahan, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, are present in their designated positions. The reverse carries the standard green ink design used on one-dollar notes of this period, including the Latin mottos “Annuit Coeptis” and “Novus Ordo Seclorum” beneath the pyramid, and “In God We Trust” centered above the word ONE.
The note shows light overall handling consistent with its age, with slight yellowing toward the edges and a faint vertical fold line visible on the reverse. The paper remains crisp with sharp corners and clear, well-inked printing throughout. It is currently housed in a protective plastic sleeve with a small paper price tag affixed to the front, which is not part of the note itself.
