Description
United States five-dollar Legal Tender Note from the Series 1963 issue, featuring the classic red Treasury seal and matching red serial numbers on the obverse. The portrait of Abraham Lincoln sits centered within an oval frame, with the note bearing serial number A 52409346 A. The reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial in green ink, along with the familiar “IN GOD WE TRUST” inscription.
The note carries the signatures of Kathryn O’Hay Granahan, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury, both printed beneath the portrait. Standard border engraving work frames the bill on both sides, with “FIVE” and denomination numerals repeated in the corners and along the top and bottom edges. Plate position markings E4 and E7 are visible near the borders on the face.
The note shows typical circulation wear consistent with its age, including visible creasing and fold lines running horizontally and vertically across the bill, along with light toning and soft edges. No tears or missing pieces are apparent, and the printing remains crisp and legible throughout despite the handling wear.
