Description
United States one-dollar Silver Certificate from Series 1935D, featuring the blue Treasury seal and the familiar portrait of George Washington centered on the obverse. The note carries the certification text pledging that a silver dollar is on deposit in the U.S. Treasury and payable to the bearer on demand, with serial number C97287275F printed twice along the border.
The reverse displays the traditional green ornamental design with the Great Seal of the United States on one side and the reverse of the seal, including the pyramid and eye motif, on the other, flanked by large ONE numerals. Printed signatures of the Secretary of the Treasury and the Treasurer of the United States appear on the face, along with the district seal letter K. A small vintage price tag is affixed to the front, a holdover from a prior sale or collection.
The note is well circulated, showing heavy handling with multiple fold lines, soft corners, and noticeable toning and staining, particularly along the upper edge. A section of the upper right corner is torn and missing, and light pencil marking is visible near the center of the obverse. The overall paper remains intact and legible despite this wear.
