Description
Issued as part of the 1935C series, this United States one-dollar Silver Certificate carries the blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers characteristic of silver-backed currency from the mid-1930s through the 1950s. The obverse features the familiar portrait of George Washington framed in an ornate oval, with the certification text stating that silver is held on deposit and payable to the bearer on demand. The reverse displays the green ornamental design with the Great Seal of the United States and the pyramid-and-eye motif, printed in the same green ink used across this series.
The note is marked “Series 1935 C” beneath the seal, with matching serial number I90977727E printed in blue at both the upper right and lower left. Treasury signatures for the Treasurer of the United States and the Secretary of the Treasury appear along the lower portion of the note, and a small plate check number is printed near the lower right corner. A paper reference tag is visible tucked against the note in one of the photographs, used for inventory purposes and not part of the note itself.
Wear is consistent with genuine circulation: multiple horizontal and vertical fold lines run across the face and back, along with general toning and light soiling to the paper. The corners show soft rounding and minor edge wear, and faint surface creasing is visible throughout. No tears, holes, or writing are present on the note.
