Description
United States one-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1957, featuring the familiar portrait of George Washington centered on the obverse within an ornate engraved border. The note reads “This certifies that there is on deposit in the Treasury of the United States of America one dollar in silver payable to the bearer on demand,” with the blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers reading C16952025A on both left and right sides.
The reverse carries the standard green Great Seal design, with the pyramid and all-seeing eye on the left, the eagle and shield on the right, and “IN GOD WE TRUST” centered above the large “ONE.” The printed signatures of Ivy Baker Priest, Treasurer of the United States, and Robert B. Anderson, Secretary of the Treasury, appear at the lower corners of the face, as struck from the original printing plates.
The note shows honest circulation wear consistent with its age, including visible fold lines, soft corners, and light overall toning to the paper. A faint pink/red vertical mark is visible near the left side of the obverse. One photo shows the note preserved in a protective plastic sleeve with a small paper price tag affixed for reference.
