United States one-dollar Silver Certificate featuring the portrait of George Washington at center, printed with a blue Treasury seal and blue serial numbers. The note states “This Certifies That There Is On Deposit In The Treasury Of The United States Of America One Dollar In Silver Payable To The Bearer On Demand,” reflecting the historic silver-backed currency issued by the U.S. government before the certificate program ended in the 1960s.
The note is marked Series 1957 B, with the printed signatures of Kathryn O’Hay Granahan, Treasurer of the United States, and C. Douglas Dillon, Secretary of the Treasury. Serial number W50522123A appears in blue ink in both the upper right and lower left corners, with plate check letters and numbers (G4 and G774) printed near the borders. The reverse displays the familiar green ink design, including the Great Seal of the United States with the pyramid and eagle, along with the “In God We Trust” motto and “One Dollar” lettering.
The note remains flat and largely crisp, with light corner handling and a faint yellowing along the edges consistent with age. A small paper price tag is affixed to the face of the note in one photo, which is a dealer label rather than part of the currency itself. No tears, holes, or heavy creasing are visible.
